Help Make A Difference In A Veterans Life
Yesterday, was a profound day for our country, 9/11. This day is so profound because it not only represents the turmoil our country faced in 2001 but it also represents unity among all individuals across the United States Of America. We remember what happened on 9/11 but do we remember what happened after that? The United States of America sent troops to Afghanistan to fight for our country. Do we realize the trauma veterans faced after fighting for our country…even when they return home?
1 out of 5 veterans returning home from war in Afghanistan are diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Veterans face a battle of depression, regret, grief, heartache, hate and the list goes on. Chad Robichaux, a combat veteran, an MMA Fighter, author of “Redeployed” got diagnosed with PTSD after returning home from Afghanistan. Through the help of mentorship and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Chad triumphed PTSD. Chad started an organization called The Mighty Oaks Foundation (www.mightyoaksfoundation.com) which help veterans through the battle of PTSD through programs.
Chad will be coming to GB San Clemente to do a donation based seminar (minimum suggestion of $35). He will be speaking on his experience of PTSD and how he overcame the battle as well as some BJJ training and a book signing of his book, “Redeployed”. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together as one and support our veterans that fought for our country. Veterans have fought for us, the least we can do is provide resources for them to overcome their battles.
