Some Useful Tips To Help You Master The 50/50 Game
Last Wednesday, we had our first 50/50 Guard Training class. This was a huge success! Professor Flavio explained the concept of the 50/50 game: Leg Position, Hip Position, Grips and Goals. Beyond teaching the steps that build a technique, Professor Flavio wanted to engage the students minds on the intricacies of such an interesting part of Jiu-Jitsu.
Moving forward from the first 50/50 Guard Training class, Professor Flavio will work on how to explore alternative grips on arms and legs that will lead to many variations of sweeps, submissions and of course, spend a good time studying the broad range of escapes from the 50/50 Guard Training. For the next 3 weeks, we encourage you to spend a lot of time in our study hall trainings on the 50/50 Game.
The next classes are scheduled for
- July 24th: Sweeps and Reversals from the 50/50 Guard
- July 31st: Submissions from the 50/50 Guard
- August 7th: Getting in and getting out of the 50/50 Guard
